BRONZE |
My bronze work relates to organic, cultural, mythical, mystical, spiritual relationships which I articulate through the lens of "personal experience." My goal in these bronze sculptures, whether they are recognizable or abstract, is to capture within these forms the subjects of internal essence and energy. In abstract works I explore the rhythmic energetic dance of the real and the imaginary, to articulate the subtle relationship between the apprehensible and the unseen. This portal acts as the conduit through which consciousness can flow to reach the inherent reality within and behind the form, and serves as the means to bring the viewer into the freedom of their subjective experience. |
WELDED STEEL |
I refer to my welded steel sculptures as "soul vessels." They are expressions of an intuitive feeling, contemporary in form, which acknowledges the fluidity of all form and it's ability to serve as a medium for a more integrated consciousness. The common denominators are the search for wholeness and connectivity, both within our personal consciousness, and beyond ourselves. The point of departure can arise from anywhere. The pathways of the journey are innumerable. In formalizing these structures in time and space as integral molecular ecosystems arising out of and existing within the energy fields permeating all existence, they serve as bridges to the other shore, an affirmation of our intrinsic domain. |
